What We Do
Artclub is built around exploration. We visit artist studios, museums, galleries, bookstores, workshops, neighborhoods, and small businesses throughout New York City. Every visit is an opportunity to meet the people behind the work, ask questions, and see how ideas become real.
Drawing is a big part of what we do, but it isn't the goal. We use sketchbooks to slow down and notice things we might otherwise overlook. Sometimes a drawing leads to a conversation about typography, architecture, or printmaking. Other times, it simply helps us remember a place or an idea that caught our attention.
The projects we make grow out of the experiences we have together. A studio visit might inspire a zine, a neighborhood walk could turn into a poster, or a screen-printing demonstration might become a community project. We don't follow a fixed curriculum because the best ideas often come from the people we meet and the places we discover.
More than anything, Artclub encourages kids to stay curious. We hope they leave with new skills, but also with the confidence to ask questions, explore unfamiliar places, and see the city a little differently than they did before.
